The Scientific-Analytical Center of Constitutional Economics of YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, within the framework of the Data Science for Business Master Program, is carrying out a short-term training course "R software package for beginners".

Training Course Goal

The goal of the course is to teach the basics of the R program, in a short period of time, without complex mathematical knowledge. It is assumed that in the future, listeners should use the knowledge of this course to further deepen and improve their knowledge through self-study or further training courses.

Training Course Description

The training course will be conducted at Computer Laboratory of the Scientific-Analytical Center of Constitutional Economics of YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, where each listener will be provided with a separate computer. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops. The course is entirely built on observation and discussion of real examples.

Who can participate?

The course is open to all researchers and professionals working in the field of management who want to use modern analytical methods and programs in their works. The course is open also to professionals of all spheres; it requires only minimum computer knowledge (e.g. acquaintance with Excel).

Lecturer

The training course will be conducted by Prof. Ruben Albert Gevorgyan, Professor of Department of Mathematical Modeling in Economics at YSU Faculty of Economics and Management. Ruben Gevorgyan is a Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, Doctor of Economics. He has an International Certificate of Financial Risk Management (FRM). Professor Ruben Gevorgyan is the head of the Master's program "Data Science in Business" at YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, his academic interests are in the field of statistics and econometrics. Professor Ruben Gevorgyan is also a lecturer at the American University of Armenia.

 Themes

Lesson 1. Description of R and R studio programs and installation on a computer. Implementing elementary calculations with R.

Lesson 2. R data entry and installation from other programs. Database creation through R. Data cleansing and data transformation.

Lesson 3. Data visualization through R, toolbox using in R.

Lesson 4. Solving analytical problems with descriptive statistics methods.

Lesson 5. Data analysis and visualization through the ggplot package.

Training Course Duration

The course consists of 5 meetings. The training will be held from 18.30 to 20.00.

Training Course Venue

The training courses will be held at the Computer Laboratory of the Scientific-Analytical Center of Constitutional Economics of YSU Faculty of Economics and Management.

Training Course Fee

The training course fee is 65,000  AMD (including VAT).

In case of completing the course successfully, a certificate will be issued.
