CONSTRUCTION OF THE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT INDEX FOR THE COMMUNITIES OF THE RA
Gagik Chakhoyan and Yenok Hakobyan, PhD students of the faculty (scientific supervisor: Ruben Gevorgyan) delivered reports at the seminar.
During the seminar it was shown that the Regional Development Index of the RA enables to evaluate, compare and monitor territorial development of the RA.
With a certain modification it is designed based on the Regional Competitiveness Index of the European Union and the Human Development Index.
In accordance with the speakers conclusion the Index reveals significant differences in the level of communities development in Armenia, allows monitoring and identifying community issues and implementing a more rational approach to regional policy development.
